Comfortable, Convenient Cellulite Treatment with Venus Freeze™

Cellulite affects patients in all states of health, and makes the skin appear lumpy and dimpled. Despite its prevalence, cellulite can still make many patients feel insecure. Dr. Lloyd Van Wyck offers cellulite treatment at his office in Ottawa, ON with the Venus Freeze™ system to gently reduce cellulite for a smoother figure.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is persistent fat that sits immediately underneath the skin and causes a dimpled, uneven appearance when fibrous bands push the fat against the skin. This fat occurs in both men and women, but is more prevalent in women. Cellulite is often found in the hips and thighs, but may also affect the buttocks, arms, and abdomen.

There are four grades, or stages, of cellulite:

  • Stage 0: Dimpling from cellulite is not visible when sitting or standing. The skin will fold or crease, not dimple when pinched.
  • Stage 1: Similar to Stage 0, the skin is smooth when seated or standing. However, pinching the skin between the thumb and index finger will reveal dimples.
  • Stage 2: Cellulite is not visible when laying down. In Stage 2, cellulite is visible in areas such as the buttocks, abdomen, and thighs when standing.
  • Stage 3: Dimples from cellulite are visible both when lying down and standing.

Cellulite is typically present because of extra weight and lack of muscle tone. However, some patients can experience dimpled, uneven skin because of cellulite no matter how much they regularly diet and exercise.

Venus Smooth™ is an effective, non-invasive procedure that patients compare with getting a massage. There is no downtime required, and you can easily fit treatment into your busy schedule.

Venus Freeze™

Dr. Van Wyck uses the Venus Freeze™ system to reduce cellulite in his patients with safe, effective, and non-invasive procedures. Venus Freeze™ combines multi-polar radio frequency with pulsed magnetic fields to therapeutically heat the skin. The tissues lying underneath are stimulated by the multi-polar radio frequency, encouraging your body's own healing process. This response increases oxygen, nutrients, and blood to the skin and tissue, creating new collagen and elastin fibers that tighten skin, and can reduce the appearance cellulite.

Treatment usually lasts about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. Multiple procedures are required to achieve optimal results. You can continue to see improvement in the appearance of your skin over the next two to six months, and can repeat treatment in the future.

Candidates and Benefits

Patients with stubborn cellulite that is not reduced through healthy diet and exercise may be good candidates for cellulite reduction treatment, especially if they do not wish to undergo more invasive body contouring procedures. Although cellulite can affect men and women of various weights and body types, patients should be at a stable weight, as additional weight gain after treatments could result in new cellulite. Venus Smooth™ is an effective, non-invasive procedure that patients compare with getting a massage. There is no downtime required, and you can easily fit treatment into your busy schedule. In as few as six treatments, you can experience a tighter, smoother appearance.
